A yearly $20 club membership allows members to attend Wednesday evening pool sessions throughout the course of the year.  Your yearly membership also includes the use of club boats and gear on these evenings.

Scuba Club

The SPSA Scuba Club could be your gateway to a whole new fascinating world – and the underwater world. The Club offers Introductory Nights, refresher nights and scuba courses throughout the year. Information is available daily from 9:00am – 9:00pm by calling scuba instructor Cliff Adolf (306) 270-8495.




Four introductory evenings are planned for those who are interested in scuba but don't really know what to expect. Potential members will receive an introductory theory session followed by a pool session where you will use certified scuba equipment. Participants must register and pay in advance through the SPSA Office (306) 659-4421. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, space is limited.

Four Refresher pool only evenings 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. are planned for those who have taken the Kelsey Scuba Open Water Program. Individuals who have attended other training agencies or clubs must provide documentation.  Use of scuba equipment will be under the supervision of the program instructors. Participants must register in advance through the SPSA Office (306) 659-4421.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, space is limited.

Two courses will be offered during the 2020-2021 term. The course will provide the novice with the minimum knowledge and skills to safely progress to Open Water Scuba Diver Certification. Both sessions will have only one classroom theory session and the remaining theory material and examinations will be delivered online.  The remaining theory sessions can be completed based on the participant’s schedule but must be completed prior to the open water training session.


Upon successful completion of the required documentations, pool and theory material, the participant will be required to complete a separate open water examination to be granted A.C.U.C. International Certification. For more details, visit Once certified, a diver can participate in diving activities without the direct supervision of a diving instructor. Information on how to complete the open water training will be provided as several options are available as through other training organizations or warm water locations!

After completion of the theory and pool sessions, members will be provided with an open water diver referral document. To become certified divers, the participant must complete an open water examination within one year of completing the course. Open water examination can be conducted by any certified scuba instructor through many dive shops locally and internationally upon presentation of the referral letter.


The club usually offers open water examination once each spring. The participant must attend three open water training pool sessions. These sessions are required for anyone who wants to enroll in the open water examination. The open water examination is usually done on a weekend in late June and is $100.00 (GST included) plus equipment rental.
